There is a plethora of beaches to choose from, most of which have soft, velvety golden sand. We have selected four, that are all within a short drive of Harbour View, all offering something a little different.
Don't forget fossil hunting is very popular on this stretch of the coastline, Charmouth Beach, Lyme Regis and Ringstead Bay are all good places for exploration.
ALUM CHINE BEACH, is situated to the West of Bournemouth, away from the hustle and bustle of Bournemouth Pier and the town centre.
It's hugely popular with young families due to a pirate-themed large adventure playground, toilets with baby changing facilities, lost children centres, RNLI lifeguard stations, pubs and ice cream kiosks. This is also, one of the stops for the land train, which runs from Branksome Chine to Bournemouth.
Alum Chine is home to a beautiful Tropical Garden which is situated to the rear of the beach, immediately above the children's play ground.
BOURNEMOUTH BEACH, the areas of beach to the east and west of Bournemouth Pier are some of the most popular and well used sections of Bournemouth Beach.
The centre of Bournemouth with all the shops and restaurants is within easy walking distance and there is plenty of family fun to be had on the pier, including the traditional family amusement arcades. Pier Approach offers crazy golf, eateries, as well as the Bournemouth Big Wheel, where you will get a stunning panoramic view of the entire area.
SANDBANKS BEACH, is a popular beach at the far west end of the bay. You enjoy the finest quality golden sand here.
The beach gradually slopes in to the sea so is well suited to all the family.
There is a wide selection of activities at Sandbanks Beach including, crazy golf/putting, a beach shop, a range of water sports including windsurfing, sailing and paddle boats. There is a seafront cafe and other food outlets situated along the promenade. Or how about a meander around the Sandbanks peninsula, to admire the multi-million pound dwellings!
STUDLAND BAY, is a glorious slice of natural coastline in Purbeck featuring a four-mile stretch of golden, sandy beach, with gently shelving bathing waters and views of Old Harry Rocks and the Isle of Wight. It is ideal for water sports and includes the most popular naturist beach in Britain.
The beaches at Studland, Shell Bay, Knoll Beach, Middle Beach and South Beach are all owned by the National Trust.
The heathland behind the beach is a haven for native wildlife and features all six British reptiles. Designated trails through the sand dunes and woodlands allows for exploration and spotting of deer, insects and bird life as well as a wealth of wild flowers.
